Default Z28 kills after 15 mins, won't start for any hour or so

I know this is an LT1 engine, and this is an LS1 site, but I'm going to give it a chance anyway. I have a 94 Z28. Starts easy, runs great for about 15 minutes or so. Then I feel a jerk in the steering, it runs rough for half a minute or so and then kills. Doesnt' matter if I'm driving fast or slow or even stopped. I pull over and it won't start for at least a half hour or sometimes longer. Then, it repeats the process. My handheld OBD2 scanner only works on 96 plus cars so I can't check it that way. Wondering if any of you guys have a clue as to what might cause this, never had this problem with any other car. HELP!

What kinda mods do you have, miles on the car? Dirty MAF or fuel filter?

Default Thanks for the response

No mods, all stock. Someone else said they thought it might be a dirty fuel filter. I don't know. Wouldn't hurt to check I guess. Thanks.

Fuel fitlers are cheap, so is MAF cleaner. Sounds to me like you might just wanna give your car a tune up. New fluids, spark plugs, wires, fuel + air filter etc...

While you're at it you might also want to pick up a spray can of electrical connector cleaner. I had a similar problem where my fuse box was really dirty so none of the fuses were getting good contact. It would run okay for a little then die. Either way it's good maintenance.

Just guessing - but sounds like it's fine until something gets hot, fuel pump, optispark, coil, etc. If it's throwing any codes you need to get them read.
