Default Antenna

My car is an 00 WS6 and my antenna will come up about halfway and then make this weird grinding noise, and it does not go down at all. I can push it down, but after it goes all the way it makes this weird clunking noise going down. Any idea what's wrong and what do I need to do to fix it?

Sounds like the motor that controls it is going out.. I had this happen and so I just replaced it with a standard antenna.

That's ok for you, but I don't want my antenna sticking up all the time.

Why don't you get a 10 foot whip and then strap to the front bumper? You will probably pick up some good **** then!
