Default Compressor

Not an LS1 but my dad has a 87 Toyota. We vacuumed the ac out. Well now we can't get the compressor to turn on. How do you jump start one?

The low pressure switch is probably the problem.... the safest way is to start injecting freon into the system, the a/c compressor is going to switch on and off frequently but it will eventually come around, and work properly.

The other way is to install a jumper wire across the lower pressure switch and it will activate the compressor.

Are you sure the a/c compressor clutch is good? Unplug the low pressure switch and take a single wire and go from one of the pins to the low pressure switch to the other. Making a complete circuit between the two pins.

There is a clearance specification for the clutch. Also if the compressor clutch connector is 2 pin.. then it probably needs ground at the other pin to activate. If its a single pin connector. Make sure your grounded to the motor properly... ie... a painted a/c compressor may not ground properly.

Try installing a jumper ground wire from the battery to the compressor housing. Then try applying power to the clutch wire and see what happens.
