Default airbox rubbing against hood?

well ever since i bought my car, the airbox has been scraping on the hood. when i bought it it had a whisper lid i think (the ugly one that says ls1) but i just got a carbon fiber one, and i dont want it turning to **** like the other one. i mean the other one was worn down pretty bad. any good fix that you guys know of?

also, my blinkers are really really slow, and blow out more often than normal, anyone else had this problem?

I'd like to hear some feedback on this one also...my slp lid that I installed not too long ago rubs my hood a bit on my WS6. I'll definitely be checking back on this post to see what everyone has to offer. So yep...my slp lid rubs on mine also

So far I've seen two cars that have the lid rubbing against the hood.. Mine does it too. I just ground a bit off the fiberglass on the underside of the hood w/ a file.

I have an SLP lid and my buddy has a CF lid.

I don't know the setup for the trans am but the slp lid on my carmaro rubbed my aftermarket hood. I used a heat gun to dent the lid down a little at a time.

I was wondering if i could cut or grind something down on the piece that the lid clips to. also, my lid doesnt even fit good. one side of it fits over and the other doesnt.

that sounds like a good idea to me...never though of that one...hmm...might have to try that sometime...can you visually tell that the lid has been heated???

No, I can't see that it has changed in shape and I think I need to try heating and forming it again. I think it is either not touching the hood now or reduced contact. It's hard to tell since the marks are already on the underside of the hood from before.

Mine did this and I found that the two rubber stops that screw in at the two front corners of the hood, underneath near the headlights inside the engine bay....were worn out and slipping downward. Get new ones and screw tham in, I think they were $10.00 each at the dealer.

Fixed the problem.

My slp lid has rubbed my SS hood for a long time. I'll check those rubber stops and try to adjust them
