Does anyone else have an insanely hard time pumping gas?
Or am I just extremely incompetent when it comes to operating the nozzle? 90% of the time when I fill up, I'll stick the nozzle in, pull the handle, and half a second later, *click* it'll stop pumping. I try again, same thing. So I take it out and put it back in, it might pump for a second or two, then *click*. Eventually, I'm able to find a sweet spot where the nozzle's not all the way in the car and I'm holding the lever ~75% of the way down, but even then it'll just randomly click off.
Does this happen to anyone else?

happens to me, but not as bad as that... usually it'll happen once or twice and i'll tweak it and its fine.
but in some of the places i have been filling up the pumps have been running extremely slow... so its not an issue, unless you have a better way of spending 10 - 15 minutes other than standing around watching the gallons creep up.

I do have this problem every now and then. Probably has to do with the curve like said before and how fast the pump is pumping because the gas is backing up and making it think it is full.

I've had four 4th gen. f-bodies, still have two now, and have not had any problems w/ the fueling process. Late in '04 I got a new '05 Mustang GT. They all have saddle tanks which are impossible to fill. Unless you run the car to empty you had better set aside 20 minutes to fill the gas tank I realized the error of my ways and added another f-body to the fleet

I've had this problem with many GM trucks I drive. If pulling it out halfway does not work try putting the pump nozzle at an angle (even upside down until you find a position that works and remember it.
