Default Who says Corvette O2 sensors, #13111, work?

I read on here don't buy the O2 extensions, that the vette one's work but specifically 13111 as I know from just buying a vette O2 that its because these are long. The regular vette ones are shorter than the Camaro's. Well anyway, its bad info. There is no way that 13111 works on a tuned Camaro. I bought the car and the owner said the drivers side O2 is bad. Ok, no biggie. Went and bought a replacement O2 and find out its to short. So he suggests the Vette one cause he read on here it works. Ok, so I search it out and find the part number. Go home and change it and the car is running like ***... Idle it a little and take it for a little drive it seems to idle now but now you can tell the car is cammed where before you couldn't. CEL comes back on shortly.

So I decide to have my buddy scan it. Its saying that the Bank 2 is dead, not bank 1. Ok, well I'll go change that one then. So I go and change it today to another 13111, little did I know that the longer one wasn't need for the pass side, oh well, rigged it to work. And lemme tell you, I thought it ran like *** before!!! Thing will barely stay on. Can't drive it because it wants to stall as soon as you get out of gear.

So my question is, where did someone conclude that the 13111 works for a Camaro? Am I just having a freakin freak incident or what cause I'm a little pissed. I don't want to get back underneath the car again. Hell, I don't want to go back to autozone again. What is going on here? Does the 13111 in fact work as a replacement instead of buying the extensions to reach the O2? Cause I sure as hell don't think so, at least not w/ out some tuning.

And yes, obviously the car has headers just in case anybody was wondering why I was even buying that part # in the first place.

Just put one in yesterday, no problems so far and SES light hasn't returned. Wish I would have seen something about them sooner

I don't know why the car is acting up...

I pulled the ECM fuse and reset it for about 30 minutes and the car idles now. You can definitely smell it is running super rich though. I mean I have another catless car and this thing is burning your nostrils... Somethin is up. It idles like a cammed car now and it didn't before. No light yet, so we'll see.....

But what is wierd is this.... My buddy scans it and says hey, bank two is dead. So why when I replaced a good O2 for another good O2, 13111 this time though, the car idle'd so badly? I don't get it. This time it idle'd super badly.... But it seemed to be ok after I reset the ECM. In thinking if you replace a good O2 for a good O2 it should be straight but something is definitely amiss....

Are they installed in the front O2 bungs? Are the rear sensors being used or tuned out? Connections good?

Agree with all others above; have never heard of anyone having problems with the 13111s being used.

No offense man, but there isn't much to get wrong w/ installing a O2 sensor.

The rears are tuned out. They read just like they should when we put it on the scanner, like they're there but really aren't for inspections and such.

Like I said, the car runs ok now and after 40 or so miles, no CEL. But its running so damn rich, something aint right.

I hate to hear this as I have been fighting something like you for months now. The bosch 13111's work well, I've been running them for a couple of years. My 02 SS started throwing a misfire code and I changed plugs and wires, two coil packs, both front o2 sensors. The car is running better but after I drive it a little ways and cut it off on the restart it will mis as I first step on the gas then go away. My friends and I have been trying to work this out for a while. Let us know what you find.

Who knows..... Car is running ok now and no CEL's w/ more than adequate mileage on it. Surprised no one else had to at least reset the ECM for them to work though. Smells pig rich but who knows.... Just filled up so we'll see what we get from the tank. Expecting at least 16. If its under 15, something is definitely up.

I think what he meant is there is something else wrong with your setup.

I've been running the Bosch #13111 for the past 3 years. But I did have to swap them out for a new set this year.

Car is gettin some serious shitty mpg. Already at a 1/4 full and only put 170 on the tank. Its running pig rich, and it wasn't before. I think I'm going to return these O2s for some stock ones and just buy the extensions and see how that does.

Did the car run badly immediately after a cold start (open loop) or only after it warmed up a bit (closed loop)? If the former, the O2 sensors are not the cause of the problem. But if the car is dumping major fuel, it may have damaged them, so they won't work right now.

they work great for me for the past 3 years, and if teh sensors switch, they are not the cause of your problem. (tune the car)
