What a fantastic day...(pics)
So..Things have been really slow for me job wise, finally had a really good job to get to today. Got in the car, great day here in Florida after it's been freezing, car was running really good..on the way to the site a guy cut me off so I switched lanes..then he cuts me off again..so I said mkay..WOT'd the car..let off after I left him 3-4 cars back and the car just shut off. Went to start it again while the car was rolling because I was confused and still nothing. I rolled to the side of the road and tried to figure things out. Alittle history, this car has had a pretty bad misfire up top, a little noticeable at low idle. It wasn't all that bad, sometimes wouldn't do it at all, but I didn't think it was the opti at all..car seemed to spark okay, always seemed like fuel but I could never figure it out. The car is cranking but won't turn over, it seems to be that the car isn't getting fuel, the pump might have gone out? Is that possible? I tried to listen to the pump turn on and I hear something but it doesn't sound like it used to. Let me know what you think, i'm hoping its nothing drastic!
after all this..the tow truck guy seriously had me freaking out..check this out..sorry for the car being incredibly dirty : /

It's easy ... Get a fuel pressure test gauge from your local parts store, and screw it into the test port on your fuel rail. When you turn the key to the 'on' position (don't crank the engine), the fuel pump should prime for a second or two. Look at the fuel pressure guage - does it read somewhere between 41 to 46 psi? If so, the fuel pump is good. If it goes to 41-46 psi during priming, and *quickly* goes back to zero, or if it doesn't get above 40 psi at all, it's time to drop the tank and replace the pump
Bet it's the opti

What you're describing sounds like an opti failure to me, but get the fuel pressure guage just to be sure (only takes a minute to hook it up and check).
Besides, an opti is a lot easier to change than the fuel pump. I'd almost rather pull the engine out than drop the gas tank! I've done both many times.

These cars are a bitch to get on a rollback. Trust me, I used to work for a towing company. We used to carry boards in the side compartment just for real low cars like ours. It looks worse than it is though. The only thing I ever saw hit was the air deflector underneath.
