Need help before I spend $$. window relay
I have indeed searched this site for an answer for a solid 2 hours about a power window problem and couldn't find what I wanted. Window DS now completely dead. When button is pushed up no noise, when button is pushed down, I hear a click under the dash when the button is pressed and another click under the dash when the button is released. I [I][B]do not want to buy a window motor unless necessary[B][I] I assume the clicking is a relay, though I cant find that son-of-a-bit*h. I would like to start with the simplest first and work my way up.
Any ideas on where to start through process of elimination to resolve this. Passenger window button on DS works fine, I doubt it is the button itself; no damage to it, not cracked. The window was working s l o w l y, but now completely dead. Any ideas where this relay is under the dash??
I just dont want to go through replacing the window motor if it was something simpler than that. Thanks and sorry for the repetitious posting, but I really did search alot.

More than likely the motor. There is a website (you can find it on here) that made a kit to eliminate window motors dying. I know they have one for the passanger side, I'm not sure about the drivers side. It's not easy to install, but should keep the problem from reoccuring. Changing the window motor wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There are good directions available online.

The clicking you are hearing is the relay for the auto down feature (push the button once and it will roll the window all the way down without holding the button). That is why you only hear it when you push the down button. I seriously doubt that relay is the problem because if it was the window should still go up.
99% chance it is the motor.

you should check the motor by applying power directly to it. you have to pull it out of the car to do this. happened to mine and it was that brown thing between the contacts. all I did was make a solder run across the top of it connecting the contacts and it works great. saved some money and it only took a couple of minutes
