Default Asr Off, Brakes, Abs Inop

Ok so when I start the car up the only light that's on is the SES light. After i drive a few miles, the ASR OFF, BRAKES, and ABS INOP lights come on. Also, the little light on the ASR switch goes off. Anyone have any idea?

If you search you'll find drawn out threads on this; short version, either you changed your wheels or tires and the rears are taller than the fronts, or you have a speed sensor that has gone out. If it's the first option, you're screwed. You can either pull the abs fuse and learn to drive without it, purchase an abs delete kit, or try to ignore it and wreck the car, as several others have done.

If it's the second option, get the abs code read and replace the sensor!

I agree when I had skinnies and 28's on the rear mine did the same.

I just bought mine last week and it is doing this intermittently. I noticed there are different brand tires on the rear but they are the same size as the fronts. The rear end was making noise and I replaced it with a complete used rear end, so the two rear speed sensors are different. I'm planning to pull the front wheels off this weekend and do the brakes and check the speed sensors. I guess I need to check the dimensions of the tires and see if they are the same front to rear. How much difference can there be without causing a problem?

Check and see if your third brake light is out. This will throw an abs light, not sure if it will effect the others though.

There is something amiss with the braking/traction control system.

For a conclusive answer, have the codes pulled out of the EBCM.

Sounds like you have a bad sensor, my lights come on because i changed gears but they come on only after about a block's worth of slow driving. Does your speedo seem to be off?

It could be anything ABS related. Get the code(s) pulled and go from there. The most common problem is speed sensors.
