Default Turn Signal Problem

Okay, I've been looking around for this problem, and I've seen some similar ones, but I didn't actually find mine. I'm sure it's on here somewhere, and i'm sorry in advance for not finding it!

My drivers side, front blinker is not working.
The DRL there doesn't work either.
ALSO, when i put on the left blinker, it stays solid, and only the back lights up, but stays solid, no flashing, and no clicking from the flasher.

Now, the right side blinker and DRLs work just fine.

From what I found on the other posts, the same flasher is used for left and right, correct?

Would it maybe be a burnt bulb/bad socket that seems so common? Would that cause only the rear left to come on solid?

Just bought the car and need it to pass inspection.... help plz

Thx. I thought so.
The bulbs are actually sitting on my dash now. I'm not sure if I want to go through the trouble of changing them myself.
Walmart charges $1 each. lol.

Yep, I have to replace mine very often...something to keep in mind is try not to touch the bulb with your fingers as the oils will shorten the life of the bulb, they heat up quick, not quite as bad as the headlight bulbs but it may get a little more life out of teh bulbs.

It's just a burnt bulb most likely. If you have a TA it's so fricken easy to change. You just have stick your hand through the hole in the bumper, twist the pigtail and it falls right out.

It's not the bulb, it's the socket and I'd bet money on it. You could have a bad ground, if you moved the wires around you could fix it temporarily but as soon as you go over a bump or something it'll go back right to not working. Replace the socket, they're $20 each I believe.

Most likely the sockets. They are very easy to pull through the bottom trap door.

The sockets on 93-97 seem to be made out of better material than the 98 +

What trap door?
Oh, and I already bought the bulbs. Worst case scenario, I have new bulbs to go with the socket i may have to buy.

Look under the car. The plastic guard thing should have slits in it so when you take out three bolts it pivots like a door.

I say you just try replacing the bulbs first no sense in replacing a 30 dollar part if a $2 part gets it fixed. Also if your front blinker lens has a crack your just going to destroy your new socket again. So throw in a bulb see how long it does or if it works for that matter and go from there. Worst case is you blow a bulb you get 2 in a pack anyhow and if you find water in the housing you'll know it's time to replace the housing and socket if it's pretty terrible looking. Do it yourself, just need a socket and your hands and you'll know how to change it quickly if it happens again.

so, I decided to have a shop switch them out. $5 including bulbs.
and... they put two bulbs into two sockets, I watched them do it.
thing is... they used part 194 bulbs. which are... side markers apparently.
then proceeded to tell me that there was something wrong with my engine's electrical system.

now... i went to autozone and bought both a flasher and a new socket (a 194, and the correct size, just to be safe)

I pulled the blinker socket... white, burnt bulb. replaced it... and problem solved.
I then replaced the other side also.

Bulb dumdumdum!
