Default Head lights flip when car is locked and unlocked

title says it all, and i don't know why its happening. as for the weird sound, it might be the light motor thats giving up because i have notice it has had problems picking up. the lights going up and down when locking and unlocking might be a wire problem but why all of a sudden? anyone had this problem before? i havent changed the alarm, its the stock one...

It's one of the "modes" the alarm can be configured to.

Read the manual, and it's all in there. If you've lost your manual: http://www.camarohighway.com/Manuals/

As for the sound, it's the gear in the headlight motor that's given up. There's tons of info on how to do a quick-fix for it (rotate it 180 degrees), and someone out there selling a brass replacement that fixes the problem permanently.

My 98 ta did the same thing replace the gear in the headlight motor or flip it over and it will stop making the sound and going up and down when you set the alarm

anything you might need to know:
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headl....htm#FreeGuide
Id go with the free mod and just flip the gear 180 degrees for now, but I encourage to read the whole page.

I had the same problem. Flipped the gear around, it was fine for a while. Then I ended up replacing the head light motor down the road.

Yep you need to do the 180* fix on the gear. It fixed my car.

I dont get this...

"This next part is important! You now need to, while CLOSELY watching the motor shaft, rotate the raise/lower manual **** so the motor shaft turns exactly 180 degrees (or half a revolution). Once you have completed this, reattach the headlight raise lower arm. What you have just done is made it so the actual motor gear will now be in contact with the *other* half of the plastic gear. Sure, the teeth on the plastic gear are stripped, but they are stripped on the now unused side of the gear "

Thats right, and the good teeth are now on the USED side of the gear.

Because it will over-crank in the direction you turn it.

Just take the shaft off and do it. This has been done 1 million times.
