Default Loud high pitched beeeep. Fuel pump?

I was driving the other day and started to hear a high pitched beep. Thought it was a car around me but quickly noticed it was my car. I stopped and left the car on....it was loud around the *** end of my car. Sounded like a fuel pump going out so I turned on my secondary 255 pump switch and it didnt stop but changed tones not quite as loud.

It goes on and off from day to day and is really annoying me. When it does it....it doesn't get louder or softer when i brake or accelerate....just constant. The car isnt bucking or fuel cutting or driving any differnt for that matter but I cant think of what else it would be except a fuel pump? What do you guys think?

You can hear it outside and inside the car. It sounds like if you turned the key half way and let the pump kick in. a mechanical beeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It seems to do it more when gas is low. Keeping more than an 8th tank helps keep the noise away. Almost even sounds like an air pump or something. Weird.

Sounds like a whiney fuel pump, its probably louder when the fuel is under an 1/8th because your gasoline helps cool the fuel pumps, so they get hot and whine.

My whines, I thought for sure it was going out sooooooon when it started, but almost 9 months later its still fine. Does not whine all the time, but only when it gets hot mostly.

I'm not positive what the fix is, I was told to replace the pump, but if you have two different pumps both doing it, could be something else.

good luck
