Default URGENT need help!

Hey, I came home tonight (just now) and parked my car behind my truck (which I need for work at 8 A.M.) The car is a 2000 Trans am. Ok heres the problem I went to take the key out and it didnt want to turn down to pull it out. So... I start to wiggle it and pull gently and it pulls out with out the key hole thing turning down. so im like what the hell I put the key back in and it wont turn either way. I got no idea what to do. First thought was to call a locksmith, but I dont even know what the problem really is and I got $6.

dumb question because you should have tried this but did you try moving the steering wheel in a direction till it clicks.

/\ Had that problem in my daily driver and someone told me to wiggle/turn the wheel while trying to turn the key. Thought they were full of ****, but it worked.

Well if you have room to back it up and get the truck out then pull it forward you can do this:
Jack the drivers side up, remove the shift linkage, two screw drivers pop the linkage off the shift lever, take it out of park, roll it back, move the truck, push the car back, put it in park, and snap the linkage back on.
Fix it later.

i would have to say there has to be a shift interlock somewhere next to the shifter that lets you put it in neutral if there is no key present. but yea move the steering whell side to side. and if that works don't admit it

Mine got stuck like that too. Wiggling the steering wheel (very hard) while turning the key got it unstuck. I'm fixing to take mine apart and disable the steering lock so it doesn't happen again.
