Talking Carbon dust on my back bumper

I get carbon dust on my back bumper after driving a few hundred miles. I don't drive it much, so when I don't wash it for a long time or go on a trip I notice it. The car drives fine (19,500 miles on it), but I'm not sure if it has been re-programmed before. I have no mufflers, just pipes from the cats back to 24" chrome tips pipes that are larger than the input pipes. Inside of the pipes aren't that dirty.

Any ideas? Is it bad? What can I do to get rid of it, if possible?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Every Fbody I have ever owned has done this (two LT1s' and one LS1). Your talking about the little black specs that build up on the top of the rear bumper?

I just keep is well waxed and used a clay-bar to remove it.

Good idea. It washes off. I run 93+ octane and I thought that might have something to do with it also.

Thanks for the info! No need for me to worry.

I guess I remember my 2001 Z06 did the same thing... similar engine.

It's a GM, as long as it does not spit oil out of the pipes it's all good.

What is funny is driving on a dirt road, you kick up one serious rooster tail in these cars. Then the whole rear deck is plastered with a fine powder from the road. Kinda funny IMO.
