Default Edelbrock Catback - Thumbs up

Hey guys,

I have seen alot of talk about the edelbrock catback being quiet, and not producing much power, i dont understand how you can call this quiet? mine absolutely blows ears off at 6000+ with an offroad Y and longtubes, i just wanted to reccomend this to anyone that wants a nice quality aggressive sounding catback for a decent price.

An ORY makes a big difference with the way your car sounds. My old Z with stock headers and Y with a B&B catback was close to absolutely silent. At high revs, sure it would make some noise, but nothing really loud. Just a nice, smooth deep tone. After shorties and an ORY, the B&B woke up and was literally thunderous, producing a smooth, deep tone was was very loud. I'm actually looking to replacing the Borla on my SS with a B&B. Just love that exhaust.

i told my speed shop i wanted reasonably quiet normal driving, performance under full throttle. my edelbrock RPM doesnt dissappoint. i looked inside the stainless steel muffler and it has 3 aprox 1 inch straight thru tubes which i'm sure flows great. the pipes are aluminum. i put on the 95-97 because it had 3" instead of the 2.75" 98-2002. maybe they've changed this. i'm happy. i also have a sensative left ear and this exhaust doesnt give me a problem with that.

It's to bad, people don't really give the edelbrock or gibson catbacks a chance.

It does here are some pics from mine (stainless version).

I replaced the u-clamps with stainless band clamps which made everything cleaner.

I run it and really like it. Sounds very good a I noticed better throttle response than my old Borlamouth (round XR1). Picked it up from Jegs on sale for $265 (aluminized)..... No regets at all. Very nice sound level at cruise with ory.

Too many people are just sheep and won't nut up and think for themselves. It's a great setup with A+ fit and finish.

The Gibson is awesome. Not annoying inside but has a nice rumble outside.
