Default EGR Bypass ????

I am looking to purchase a set of Kooks Long Tubes for my '00 WS6. The factory manifolds are equpied with the EGR provison tubes. I was wanting to purchase a set of headers without the ugly egr tubes & was wondering if any of you guys have bypassed this egr system. What is involved, how to do it & does it throw codes or cause driveability problems. Thanks Guys

You can get a block off plate for the intake or get a ls6 intake and some more power. The ls6 doesn't have the hole in the intake. You will throw a code but you can tune it out hith HP tuner or ls1 edit. You can also remove the air pump and all its hoses with your header install. That will also need to be tuned out. This will make the engine bay look alot cleaner and clutter free.

ok, Im having a problem tunning EGR and Air thing out... I log into HP tuners and then I put off on the Air selinoid, but theres no ON/OFF on the EGR, but whats annoying is then I log out and back in, and the codes still show that I have the Air selinoid code, which means it didn't turn off yet... how can I save the fact that I did set it to off...?!

Thanks

I don't know whther its considered a handheld or not, but its an HPtuners PRO, and it has an ON/OFF option inside... I switch them off, go out of the ON/OFF window but they are still there... :S

You can turn the EGR on/off in HP Tuners. You then need to go into the diagnostic screen and set all of the AIR and EGR codes to 'No Error Reported'.

Ya def get rid of egr and air pump bull ****.....If you dont have the money you can use a 1/3/8 core plug from your auto parts store theres 2 kinda on u silicone in the other is a think black rubber piece with a stud in the midde and nut one top. put it in the egr spot and tighten it up till the plug wont slip out and my suggesttion is get another nut and put it on top of that one w some lock tight so they dont come off. Cause if they do the stud will drop down and go into your motor causing hell and blowing it up!!
