Default CORSA exhaust or Flowmaster????

I am deciding between a Flowmaster and a Corsa exhaust system for my TransAm. I've heard, in person, what the flowmaster system sounds like, but have only heard the Corsa system on the net. Does anyone have any suggestions, or know if the Corsa system is better? First of all, I like the looks of the Corsa system better, but I do not want to sacrifice sound. Thanks

I have the corsa and a friend of mine has the Flowmaster... I'm glad I went with Corsa.

Flowmaster is absolutely the worst flowing muffler you can get! Between those two I would go with Corsa, but if it was me I would go with a Hooker catback and use the money I saved on the Hooker over the corsa, to buy somethin else......but thats just my .02

I have had corsa and hooker love them both. The corsa's quility and looks are unsurpassed. but 770 boy is right buy the hooker and a cut out. It sounds good good quility and looks good. The tips will rust if not taken care of. I was happy with the hooker.

Well said.

And I don't like the corsa, either. I have heard of quite a few people having trouble with the muffler starting to rattle after a while. Totally unacceptable considering it's about 2 or 3 times the cost of most catbacks

CORSA all the way. The only reason I have Flowmaster, is because it came on the car when I bought it.

I'm suprised that nobody has run the Dynomax exhaust, it flows like crazy and is only $507.66 from summit.
They have a bolt on setup, but that muffler flows like ****, where they have another one that flows like crazy. The good muffler flows 940cfm vs no listing on the muffler in the kit. Which means that it doesn't flow well if they don't list it. The Super Turbo Muffler flows 573cfm

If I remeber right someone around here installed the Dynomax/Magnaflow (same company) muffler on a restrictive setup and ran some silly 450rwhp with the cat back! https://ls1tech.com/threads/showflat...31&fpart=1

Here is the discussion:

"great numbers...
but lemme get this strait....
he only made 4 more hp with cutout open???!!!
what cat back is he running???!!! "

"haha thats a long story, its a corsa catback, but we got rid of that stupid muffler it broke 3 times so when corsa sent us the 4th one he stuffed it under his bed and because he had a magnaflow muffler welded on at a local exhaust shop, gotta love the straight through design huh?"

The problem is you have to order all the parts seperately to really get this exhaust system.

The cool thing is that Dynomax gives you all the part numbers:

WLK-17227 Ultra Flow Welded Muffler
WLK-54064
WLK-53061
WLK-53062
WLK-53063

You'll also need 1 2 3/4" (WLK-33227) clamp and 4 3" clamps (WLK-33278)

They also mention the WLK-41970 connector, but I'm sure you could weld that up instead.

All this info is per these sites:
http://www.dynomax.com/documents/pas...ral_motors.pdf
http://www.dynomax.com/documents/ultrafloweld_specs.pdf

Flowmaster may be the worst flowing muffler but it sounds pretty damn good with long tubes and no cats. Save yourself $400.00 and get the flowmaster with a cutout but it's your decision.

I thought my Flowmaster sounded like sh*t with my headers/no cats, not at all like my friends LT1. Thats why I took it off and got Borla. Sounds much better.

I bought my WS6 5 months ago with the flowmaster cat back already installed...as I researched info on the system, the muffler has no glass panels or restrictive objects other than channels. So how does this system not flow well?
