Default Looking to add Ls6 intake and Longtubes but worried about Mass Emissions

I just bought a 2000 Z28 about 3 months ago. I live in Masachusetts which has strick emissions regulations. I am wondering about doing the egr delete so i can get any LS6 intake not the one with the egr and also gettting a pair of Pacesetter long tubes air delete ORY and possibly cat delete. will a local tuner be able to get my car to pass emissions??? any information would be appreciated. Thank you

Also if anyone localy is selling an LS6 intake or long tube let me know! also who is a good tuner in the Boston area

http://www.vehicletest.state.ma.us/about_whywhat.html After reading this it looks like you have to have CATS to pass. As far as tuning the car to pass emissions as long as there are no emissions codes being thrown while they are doing the scan of your computer you should be fine. I would try and find some guys around your area with the same mods and ask them how they did it. try here https://ls1tech.com/forums/eastern-members-56/ good luck also try to use the search on this site it may help you out as well.

Easiest way is to find a "friendly" inspector for the visual inspection, and for the OBD2 plug in test have the tuner (or you can do it yourself if you have HPT or EFI live) turn off the codes
That's the way I did it when I lived up there

since they don't do the sniff test here, as long as a tuner removes the codes I should be all set.??? as long as the inspector doesn't check for cats?

A lot of people think LT's sound better with cats because it reduces rasp. I would get a cat'd Y if I was you and avoid the hassle of trying to pass inspection without them.

Is your car a daily driver? I know PA does not require emissions for cars that get less than 5000 miles a year. Mass might have something like that.

Reading the program notes it doesn't appear that Mass has a mileage exemption
But might want to find out one way or the other

welcome aboard fellow masshole! don aka slowhawk is a great tuner. he'll delete all the codes so the check engine light won't be lit. as far as the visual, just go to a place where they won't check for cats. that's what i do. where is boston are you? stop by the eastern section and say hi.

i was told if the cats are moved from their original postion a fine can be handed to you. it's funny people my age i think are too used to hearing mustangs so they complain about rasp but older guys who grew up with true muscle cars love the sound of my car, tellin me it reminds them of when they were young

I've NEVER had a cop look under my car in MA to see my cats (my camaro's cats are stock, my other cars cats are not stock, and not stock location)...nobody has ever cared about that, even the inspection guy, looked and saw cats and said "ok cool"...I really don't think there'd ever be a fine levied in MA.

I sent you another PM BKDZ28.

I am willing to bet that half the guys don't even know where the factory cat location is on every single car. It doesn't benefit them to bust ***** over such a little thing anyway.
