Default What Headers for my 2000 Z28 ????

Hi, my Z28 has today an SLP air lid + ram air + magnaflow catback. Is has been reprogrammed by a friend here in France with HP Tuners, and I had 331hp (271 rwhp) measured at the dyno.
I want to improve my car, and I ll get a 3.73 rear end instead of my 2.73.
Then, I think to go for an Ls6 intake + headers : my contacts here in France say that American Racing Headers are the best, and can give me up to 40 more hp.
Those headers are quite expensive, so I wanted to ask what cheaper choice could also give me a lot more HP ?

What would you recommend ?

I noticed that their price is very attractive, does someone know how much extra hp you can get from pacesetters on a Z28 ?

kooks, QTP, ARH are very good products!! but they are pricey. but it is tough to beat the pacesetters for the price. i have an 02 Z28 A4 and had an slp lid, and magnaflow catback with 2.73.. i added pacesetters and it woke up my car big time. it seemed like it pulled harder than my old 00 Z28 with hooker headers.

pacesetters suck, if you want a good budget header, get LPP's. Highest quality stainless, and they're on sale right now for $600 for headers and Y

kooks or ARH are your best bet . yes pace setters are cheaper but they also dont have the quailty that the others have and dont fit as good either . you do get what you pay for . i had hookers before i got my kooks and wish i had gotten the kooks first much better built product , fit finish and also keep in mind the merge collector setups as that makes a difference too.

Here in France, none of my friends have tried LPP's. Do they fit on the engine as well as ARH, and how many extra Hp could I expect from them ?
Do you have a link where I could find them on sale ?

The whole problem for me is that over the price of headers, I have to expect between 500 to 700 $ for shipping, + 30% of the sum of headers price + shipping as custom taxes
For exemple, lets say for ARH, 1500$, + 700$ shipping, + 660$ customs : total expense 2860$ !!!

So I have to find a good choice of headers on the first time, because I will not buy a second pair if I am not happy with the first...... I want good stuff, which fits right, prefering stanless steel, and delivering many extra Hp
If ARH is far above everything else, I really need to find a very good sale price to be able to offer them to my car

Do it once and do it right...go ARH or Kooks. It may cost more in the begining, but in the end you'll be more satisfied knowing you have the best!

Of course it seems attractive, but my family and I will end up eating potatoes
I leave you imagine what my wife will think about my choice

I finally got ARH long pipes, with high flow cats but no AIR.
I got them installed with a friend, it took us a long day, hard to remove stock headers + cats, and we had to lift the engine to install the passenger side ARH long pipes, but finally all went in, and I got the pleasure to hear the amazing sound

I also installed an LS6 intake, and got my car tuned for those changes, then went to the dyno.

My previous dyno got my car at 271 RWHP, and this one at 314 RWHP, so I gained 43 HP with ARH long pipes + LS6 Intake.
Maybe my tune was not yet optimal, since we did not have all the tables to tune my new 28.8 injectors, but +43RWHP is a good jump anyway !!!
