250 max hp Dyno Run
So i got my car Dynoed today. And as you can see the tittle says i got max 254hp. Check the sig for mods. These are shamefull numbers. The guy at MMS (sorry don't know his name) said it could be one of many things. Clogged cats. Need new plugs and wires. Bad timing. What do you guys think? Just for a little more info on my car it has 60,000+ miles on it. I feel really embarrased about this.

Don't feel bad bro. I was at MMS too this morning and I dynoed 308HP. Something is definately not right since I run about 12.8 in the 1/4 mile (sea-level). My numbers didn't make sense either. If you think your car is running strong, don't worry about it. It's really the track times that count.

Re: 250 max hp Dyno Run
I was looking at your mods and didn't notice any aftermarket exhaust in there?
With the cam and all the other mods you should pick up a considerable amount. Change your plugs and wires. Check for misfires. If you need an A-Tap log done, let me know and I can do it for you if you bring your own laptop (sister is using mine for school now).
Oh and one more thing, did you have a full tank of gas? If you were low on gas, the computer pulls timing. Just a thought.

Re: 250 max hp Dyno Run
I have stock exhaust. Im going to do a wire and plug change. It was time to change them anyways. And im still running the stock cats. and my car has 60,000+ miles on it so im sure my cats are done. After that i will pull another dyno session and hopefully my hp gets better. And i had about 3/4 in the tank. But yea its like 100 hp low. Would bad plugs, wires and cats do that to ya?

Something isvery wrong. Listen to the guys above and ATAP that thing. Also, did you have the dyno guy do an A/F ratio test. It would of been very helpful.

MaxedOut, I'm sorry things didnt work out today, but definitely check the timing, change plugs and wires, Autotap the car, and get a compression check. Then look into the cat problem.
BTW, did you buy the SS used? I thought your car was too loud for a stock exhaust and I noticed as you were driving off why your car was so loud ... I think you have an 80 series flowmaster muffler in place of the stocker.

Re: 250 max hp Dyno Run
Well, before you tear apart your cats and replace a bunch of parts, do you know what you're running in the 1/4? If you're in the 12's (which you probably should be with your mods) then there's something wrong with their dyno. Perhaps it needs to be calibrated (forgive me if this is the wrong term as I'm no dyno expert) or something. Do you know anyone else that's used this dyno recently and have they also shown low numbers? I would think for sure that if your missing about 1/3 of the HP you should have that you would DEFINITELY notice it while driving...i.e. it would drive like **** and you would know something's wrong.

Re: 250 max hp Dyno Run
Try a different dyno. I have heard of some shops purposely low dynoing non-customer cars so that the customer will spend some cash there to rectify the problem. I am not saying this is whats happening but I would at least eliminate the possibilty. If you are definetly that low I would first removing the predator tuning then re-dyno. Remove all possible variants(mods) and get it as close to stock as possible. Could be a faulty MAF or bad injectors, need a quality tune-up. There is a possibilty that the cam needs a quality tune NOT a hand held tuner too. Good luck.

02BQIK, I wasnt saying the muffler was a problem as it wouldn't be, I was just trying to let him know that he had an extra part that he didnt know about before.
Also, this dyno was done at a dyno day where most cars saw the same numbers or expected increases from the lasty dyno day in Feb. He was the last car to dyno, and I dont think the dyno stopped functioning properly for that run.
