Aftermarket Intake and throttle body which ones ?
Looking for a intake and throttle body, i have all the other bolt on's done except for them so i am torn between if i should get the ls6 intake with stock throttle body, or should i get the typhoon set up which already has aftermarket fuel rails on it with the 85 mm set up, or should i get the bbk set up ? I am trying to look for something that is in a reasonable price range and was thinking about the typhoon set up anyone have that ? Ups and downs ? What is everyone elses opinion on what to get maybe just a LS6 with a aftermarket bbk TB ? ? Thanks guys.

You plan on boosting ? Staying stock cubes?
Mid 12's isn't hard to do at all, you can get that with a few bolt ons, some tires, and a good tune
But you'll probably want more than that when you get it!

No boosting and the motor its self is stock but has 141,000 on the clock so it will get rebuilt later in the future but just a cam when its built is most all i want not to much money throwed in it just bored a little and whatnot, and i just got a 125 shot on it also so that will help but don't tend on spraying much, and the tranny i wanna get a 3500 stall in it once its rebuilt to but that later future stuff whenever it or the motor goes so just as far as now should i just get a ls6 with a aftermarket 78mm throttle body or what ?

Yeah well generally the FAST 92 is the top of the line manifold, but it comes with a hefty price.. Like $875 or something.. Then you need the 90mm throttle body as well - another $375 I think. You will gain the most power with that, but it just depends how much you want to spend..
If you're on more of a budget, just go for the LS6 manifold. It's still much better than the LS1 manifold, and you can pick one up used on here for about $300.
As far as the throttle body, I know a lot of people just port the stock throttle body and run it with the LS6. Probably gain a solid 15HP between both.. Maybe a little more.

there is a dynocomparison on TPIS homepage... and on a moderate engine you wont gain much below 6500 rpm with a FAST over an LS6... and the extra cost just isnt justified unless you are all out... and lets face it, 3.9 inch bore and cathedral ports just isnt the right foundation for an all out engine.... so get an ls6 intake and spend the extra cash on nitrous if you want better et´s

Well it all depends on his goals with the car.
You can't just say save the money and get nitrous to make it faster..
The FAST will make more power on a bolt on engine.. And the margin will be even larger on a more modified engine.

i totally agree with you M-ten but if he doesnt intend to spin it faster than 6500 rpm, there is less Hp to be had from a fast intake than an underdrive pulley... and if its going to 7K then perhaps a vic. with elbow is a better bet....
and since hes running boltons right now.. and no internal mods my advice would be to spend the same amount that the FAST costs on a set of heads!! then cam... then intake

Well yeah for what he said he's plannin on doing he might as well just grab an LS6..
I'll just say this..
If you can afford to spend the extra $600 for the FAST, then go for it! You'll gain more power now and in the long run, and you won't ever have to upgrade later...
But if that's not in your budget, just get an LS6. It will still be much better than the LS1 manifold. You'll be happy with either
