Default Longtubes with stock catback?

Anyone running Longtubes with a stock catback? I just installed a set of Pacesetter Long Tubes and O/R Y, I had a SLP LM1 installed a couple months back and with the LT's it is just to loud and doesn't sound good at all to me. I was wondering if anyone was running lontubes with a stock catback I have a E Cut Out that is already wired up just waiting on the install when I decide on a catback. Just wondering if I should reinstall the stock catback and use the cut out when I want otherwise have the car a lot more quiet. Thanks!

I have a custom Y no cats and using the stock over the axle and out muffler. Exactly why I kept with it including cost. Was hoping to make it bearable and it does. Any different muffler and I think it would suck. Dyno numbers down there

anyone know the part # of the borla muffler that is used for the borlamouth? I have a flowmaster single chamber muffler that is laying around here would that work in place of the resonator very well or not?

I have LT's, self catted ORY, and stock dual/dual. It sounds VERY VERY nice.

My stock catback was actually louder than the dual/dual.

Here's mine with JetHot 1-3/4" longtubes, ORY, and stock catback (stock cam also):

Same everything, but with 226 cam:

Same cam, same headers & ORY, but custom low dollar single in/single out muffler:

Same cam, same headers and ORY, but dual/dual muffler (no tips on yet):

Dual/dual muffler at WOT:

And my favorite, dual/dual with cutout open, LOL...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adh4BnfBMBg

I absolutely love the dual/dual because it is quiet when cruising, yet nice tone at WOT. I had a Borla adjustable and hated it. I also had a Magnaflow catback and hated it...both were raspy as hell and sounded like **** at anything other than WOT IMHO.
Hope this helps.

Completely agree with you man. Sounds alot like mine, I love the WOT sound too there is just a deeper growl to it than most other raspy harsh mufflers.

I had no idea so many people were running a stock catback. Interesting.

I'm still running the stock catback on mine as well. I do have a custom cat'd y. I had a e-cutout that got around 5-7 more hp, but I had to take it off here.

My GF has a cam/stall, LTs, ORY, going through the stock catback and an E-cutout. With it closed at idle you cant realy tell much of difference from stock, at cruise and under a load you can tell its a bit louder but not significantly louder. With it open it sounds like you would expect a cammed car with open exhaust to sound.

Also, at WOT you can definately tell the difference in power with it open and closed. Overall its a good combo, I would recommend it.

Thats not a stock catback...it might be what was on your car (an SS that SLP put an exhaust on before it was delivered) but it's not stock. A stock Z28 muffler is 27" long and a LOT quieter than a "stock" SS exhaust as delivered from SLP. Can tell by looking at the muffler in that video that it is not stock.

I noticed that too, but I just thought he changed the tips.

The muffler is a lot shorter than a stock muffler.

Part number: 40085

BorlaMouth here:

...I'd never use a stock cat-back unless it was a Dual-Dual. I've had a few cat-backs and love my BorlaMouth over them all (and so do others). I still like my Borla on my T/A with stock manifolds, stock cats, and stock y-pipe, but will full exhaust I don't care for Borla.
