magnaflow cat-back fitment issues

magnaflow cat-back fitment issues
Am i the only one thats having problems getting my muffler level and my tail pipes to line up properly? Even before i put it on the car i put it together on the floor of my house and the driver side tail pipe appears to be over-bent.( a little more than a 90degree bend) Also the exhaust hanger(closer to the front of the car ) is waaaaaaaayy of and doesnt "hang" at all. I've tried messing with it for a few hours and i'm about to take this pos off and put back on my flowmaster !

I had to finiggle mine a bit to get it to fit, but never had any real trouble. Getting the left tailpipe to hang to some work, but once everything was put together it fit just fine.

well lucky for me my brother has one on his car. His main hanger on the driverside tailpipe was bent down quite a bit so i bent the **** out of mine and now its a lot better. Its still not perfect the way i want it but its too damn cold outside to mess with anymore.
Anyone seem to notice theirs get louder as time goes on? my bros seems a good bit louder than mine.

The pipes do fit a little weird and are not bent identical and I don't think fitment will be perfect with any catback.
The Magnaflow does get louder over time as some of the muffler filler blows out. A few WOT runs will take care of that.

wow this is interesting, my driverside tailpipe bends inward but whatever, im over it for now. I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same issues and what their solution was. I cant complain only spending 450 for a stainless cat-back but it really was a royal pain in the *** trying to get it to fit right. My flowmaster lined right up with hardly any adjusting.
The whole reason i got a new cat back was to eliminate interior drone i was getting from the flowmaster and the magnaflow is just as bad. I didnt have the loot to buy a corsa, but i might just have to fork it out because on the highway it gives me a damn headache.

I'm 99.9% sure that's how it works. I installed mine about a month ago.
I switched to the magnaflow because I was getting tired of the highway
noise I had with the LM2.
BTW my drivers side tip doesn't fit well either. It's straight but it sticks
out further than the passenger side tip. Overall I'm happy with the
system though. It's pretty quiet right now with the stock exhaust
manifolds & cats, But I'm sure it will get louder with LT's & ORY.

mine lined up fine in 3-4 minutes hahah. i bought mine used though so maybe the previous owner bent some stuff around or i have one that was produced earlier. who knows.

The magnaflow CB connects to the stock Y-pipe at 2.75" & increases
at that point to 3". The 3" pipe runs from that point into the muffler.
The muffler then has dual 2.5" outlets.

I am curious, which TDs and ORY are you going with? I am trying to decide between kooks and pacesetter.

ummm, i know i've heard corsas on a few vettes but now that you mention it, i dont think i've heard one in person on a camaro or trans am. I just figured that they boldly advertise no annoying highway drone or rasp either. I might just stick with the magnaflow for now and try and pick up a used one, or if possible just buy the muffler only if they sell it.

Yes you are right. I forgot the 2.5s were for the outlets. 3" in to 2.5" out with i believe 3.5" tips.
I guess I am lucky because after looking at mine today, The fitment is perfect.

I've never had them before but from all of the research I've done &
people I've talked to, Kooks & ARH seem to be about the best you
can buy. I've heard they fit great, are constructed well, & because
they're stainless they won't corrode like painted or coated headers will.
I will probably go with the pacesetter ceramic coated though. They cost
about half as much as the kooks. Plus I drive about 20K-25K miles a year
so I'll be getting a different car before corrosion should be a problem.
Another thing you might consider is the new LPP headers. They are
stainless also & they have a budget price.They seem to be a really
good value, but I can't really recommend them since they are so new
& I haven't heard much about them. But for the price & the fact they're
stainless they might be worth looking into.
But if you can afford them I would definately recommend the Kooks.
