If you are still running stock heads and cam it would be money you can puy away for those as the stock ones will take care of what you have now.Stock tb is 2.9" and the fasttoys are around 3.4" you can't suck any more air anyway.

Thanks guys! Atleast I won't go spending $300+ on something that won't help me with the mods I have.
I won't go heads and cam yet, I am aiming for 11.60's on bolt-ons full-weight. I guess I would need to work on suspension parts since I have none.

with the 85mm lid/maf there will be little gain if any with your stock 78mm tb. Now if you go fast 90/90 and the 85mm lid/maf that would be a great combo that will love to rev.
I have the 85mm lid, and it fits great and looks awesome.
I bought the lid $120 and a used truck 85mm maf for $50, so i got the setup for under $180. But you will need a tune if you go with the truck sensor or any other maf to see the best results.
i say buy the lid, maf, and fast 90/90, and put it all on at the same time with a dyno tune.

Even after i get the fast 92/92 my maf and lid will still only be 85mm, but its better then 75mm i guess.
You do have a decently sized cam so i would GUESS if you just went fast combo you could see 15rwhp maybe 20, but if you add the 85mm setup I wouldn't be surprised if you picked up another 10-15 on that.
Just do it all at once with a tune

I'm not much into bench dyno results, but if you think about it, most people put a fast 90/90 behind the stock 75mm maf and slp lid. or some others will get the 85mm lid/maf and still have the stock 78mm tb(like me) I'm still waiting on funds for the fast 92 but it will go one the car with before and after results.

You know i did install my 85mm setup and had it tuned with my new cam. but before the cam with just the 85 mm setup on the stock ported tb it felt like it pulled harder in the 6,000-6,500 range. So if you feel like spending a little $$ for the lid/maf, and maybe a re-tune, you could always do that and get the 90mm later. I set my rev limit at 6,500 with good rod bolts, so the bigger the inlet the netter for high rpm potential.

check out the graphs i've posted in here and the dyno section.
before/after test of my LS6 w/ ported TB verse a home-ported FAST 90/90.
18hp/12ft lbs peak
5-12 hp and torque gains from 3000rpm and up
this was on stock heads, with a standard lid and ported MAF ends...all still 75mm.
dug up the graph...still worth reading the thread for more info

yeah, i'd like to do that. had actually planned on trying some different setups when i did THIS test. but time and parts availability didn't work out.
i'm planning on shopping around for the parts to do it. but considering i would need to tune for the new MAF...it probably won't be untill i do heads.
but ideally i'll put heads on...tune and dyno with my current lid/maf combo.
then do the quick swap to a bigger lid/maf combo and see what the gains are.
but don't hold your breath...i'm BROKER than a bent dick
for the maf upgrade...you'll likely need a retune...might be able to run without it, but it could be dangerously lean.

Yeah you never know what the maf will do, mine was acually rich. I was able to get the tune shortly after.

i have stock H/I, i do have a cam. I am hoping in the spring time to p/u maybe 25 RWHP.
i am adding the following all at the same time
42# injectors (my DC is at 98% as i sit now)
85mm LID
85mm MAF
E-cutout
FTRA
Obviously i am getting my tune touched up. right now i sit a 404/375. na corrected 415/378. like i said i am hoping to hit the 430 RWHP mark
