Sound gains? Some folks say a little more noise, but i haven't noticed it on my C5 ported TB.

Performance gains? A couple of hp at least, depending on the porting. More if you have engine mods. Some folks say SOTP is better; others say you need thin pants.

I like mine.

recently we did a back to back dyno on a ported tb and saw 5 horse. not that all cars will show this but depending on your mods it might. heads and large cam cars will the see it the most. actually, looking again at the graph it was 4.7. hope this helps you a little.

I have a stock TB, should I just port the one I have? Or should I buy a new one.

From what I have seen of home ported units they don't get everything they should. The difference between a awesome port job and a ratty one is alot of little details.

I am partial considering that we port them.

The ported stockers are the way to go. We currently have our ported/powdercoated TB's on special for $130! And plenty in stock. Click on our link to the right to see some pictures or check out our thread in the sponsers section.

Hey Jantzer:

When you port them, do you also check for the 4.7 Volts reading/wide open throttle stop mod? Or does that have to be done when the TB is on the car?

Thanks.

I must say I received my Bauer throttle body about three weeks ago and it looks and performs awesome, the port job is top quality and the powdercoat also looks really good, not to mention the increased throttle response.
