Default bigger mas air will it help?

I have a 408 built fairly decent, I am still running the stock mas air, will a aftermarket one gain me anything noticeable? Any suggestions on brands and size?

Sure it will! Stock cube H/C ls1s notice improvements so I would say you surely will. I'd go w/ a Delphi 85mm or TSP 100mm MAF w/ FTP 85mm lid or (if they release it soon) a TSP 100mm lid, either one and you'll be set!

Sounds good motor made 489rwhp and 472rwtq. would like to get it to 500+ rwhp. Do you think 85mm mas air would get me there?

I picked up 50+ rwhp by adding a Lingenfelter 100mm MAF, MW 90mm TB, and Fast intake. Final numbers were 524/501. I was very pleased.

I just had a Speed density tune that deletes the MAF. I was maxing out the MAF pretty bad.
now the car runs great at all RPM's

I'd try putting true duel exhaust on the car, that gained me about 27rwhp.
Then 100mm mas air. Is your car a orange trans am? Never seen one before.

27rwhp for a set of True Duals... Really ... What supporting mod's are you running with that? Are you saying you added a set of true duals to an otherwise stock LS1 and gained those numbers...?

Do tell....

27 rwhp, somethings wrong, my friend disconnected his SLP cat back on his 408 and only gained 4 rwhp. He did this because he was trying to determine if he should run cut outs.

My '09 Vette as per GM only gains 6 hp, not rwhp, with the NPP exhaust which is supposed to, at least partially, bypass the muffler.

A bigger MAF will help only if you already have a lid, throttle body and intake to take advantage of it. No use going with a stock replacement lid, to an 100mm MAF, on a 90/90 intake ... or worse an LS6 intake. Think of the intake system like your exhaust, you wouldn't run a 2-1/2" I-Pipe off of your 3" Y-pipe to feed your 3" muffler now would you?

Default Yes!

If you upgrade to the 85mm MAF with our Fast Toys 85mm lid and get a proper tune, you will easily see a siginificant HP gain. We've had stock cube, cam only cars pick up .7-.8 MPH in the quarter. A heads/cam or larger displacement motor will gain even more.

FWIW, I was able to get the Fast Toys lid to fit on the Lingenfelter 100mm MAF. I boiled some water immersed the MAF end of the lid until the plastic was soft. Then I immediately slid the lid over the MAF and put on a band clamp. Worked great.

Thanks for the great info. We actually sell the Ligenfelter MAF's and will get the site updated with that product shortly.

Thanks
