Solid motor mount experience UPDATED!!
I'm about to change my motor mounts, and I'd like to get some REAL opinions/experiences from people who have actually had them on their LS1.
I know they cause vibrations in the vehicle. I have not experienced these vibrations in person, in an LS1 before. Here are a few of questions:
-How much would it make my car shake, side to side, at idle with my current mods (mods in sig)?
-Is it worth it for a car that I drive daily? I can put up with some extra vibrations and such, but would I feel like I was in hell while driving the car? Maybe an easier way to ask this is...Does it get old, really quick?
-Does it make any body parts of the car rattle from the outside? Like, at a stoplight, would it make my car sound like it was falling apart?
-If I get solid mounts, would I have knock retard issues?
A few of the reasons I was thinking about solids, was the fact that my engine will not move under hard acceleration and the "coolness" factor of having my car shake at idle. Would polys do this also, or is this strictly a solid mount thing?
---------------
UPDATED! Mounts are on the car, and I love them. See page #2 for experience/explanations.

The shifter will not shake as engine doesn't move and the engine doesn't realy add to vibration or rattles like suspension parts do.I've had mine on for about 8 years and have not had any complaints.Good mod in my opion but each to their own.

unbolt them then lift the engine up and get the rest of the bolt out, then replace with new and put bolts in, then tighten as you lower the engine back down. Im bout to do this aswell and been readin up.

Finally got the Spohn solid mounts installed today. Great product. I only have small vibrations at 500-600 rpms (idle). Its raining, so I can't really go WOT atm. I'll try to test it more tonight.
