Default I can finally hear myself think while driving

Today I brought my car in at work to replace my drivers side window motor. That went really fast because the previous owner had already replaced it once.

Well I decided to pull the passenger side tailpipe off of my borla catback to see what plate was installed. I wasn't suprised to find that there was no plate at all in there. I quickly made a blockoff plate and installed on the car and took both tailpipes off.

I think it sounds 100x better than with the open exhaust and I got rid of those rediculous looking square tips that borla uses. The exhaust note seems alot deeper and many times quieter than before.

Quieter is better? That seems to defy all logic on ls1tech. Now my brain hurts.

what kind of exhaust do you run??

take anyone out there running full exhaust with little or no restriction and they will say it sounds cool until they have to drive it for more than 15 minutes, then its just a headache

i just quieted my setup too. Yay for peace of mind

yeah, it was a headache being my DD and being so loud. It also attracted ALOT of attention. I dont really understand why almost everyone on LS1tech likes their cars to be so loud. There is a big difference between being loud and sounding good. A lower decible deep rumble sounds 100x better than just loud raspy noise IMHO.

I hate loud *** cars also. It gets ridiculous after awhile. Maybe some of us in our mid 20's no longer think driving a race car everyday is cool.

I never liked the way my car sounded with the open pipe. I just finally found time to work on the car. Too many other cars need attention where I work to find any extra time to work on our own stuff. Im two days into creating a mild to wild exhaust on a GTM supercar and im probably only a 1/3 of the way done.

Loud exhaust is awesome for a while but it wears on you QUICK. I've had side exhaust that dumped mid-door to true-duals. I'm looking forward to the quieted down tone a turbo brings and I'm probably going to smother it with a quiet muffler.

Do you have any sound/vid clips?
