Default TSP Lid Extras?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting the Black TSP Air lid for $95 off their website. Is there anything else I would need to purchase along with the air lid? I have heard something about a breather filter, but I was kind of confused on that. Any info would be great! I have a 2001 Trans Am WS6. Thanks a lot!!!

You need a K&N Breather filter to fit the AIR pipe that comes off the intake lid.

yep, the filter i BELIEVE is for the a.i.r. pump, so if you didint remove the pump then you'll need the filter. here's pic of both installed on my car...

the breather filter is on the right side of the pic.

What would happen if you just cut off that hose and didn't get a breather filter?

not sure, but in that case why dont you just pull the entire a.i.r. system out?

98-99 cars do not have filters on the air system.

most likely nothing would happen, the hose is to the airbox to keep water out of the pump

Just pull the entire AIR system, its a weight/appearance mod that takes 10 mins.

Completely off topic, but Slow, how did you wire that passanger express down?

Another vote to just take off the air system, easy to do and really cleans up the engine bay

So all I need to purchase is the Lid from TSP right? It'll come with all the appropriate hardware? I don't need a different smooth bellows do I? Also, what size is the stock MAF? Is it 80mm or 85mm?
Thanks Ed

Call them up and ask. I bought the lid but don't remember if it came with the clamp or not, I am thinking it did. If not you can go buy one at a hardware store, no biggy.

You can use the stock bellows if you want or SLP/Fernco if you have it already.

If you have the ZO6 MAF/Truck MAF (85mm) then yes you need to order the one made for 85mm. If its stock I believe the size is "75mm".

You can order the breather from TSP if you want, just save yourself the hassle and it might be cheaper than buying it from a automotive store i.e checkers, Pep Boys etc.
