Question NGK T6 Plugs Or TR55 Plugs?

What plug should i run for my application? I am currently running TR6 plugs, but is that too cold?

I was reading on NGKs website that the TR55s are for a NA motor. And the TR6s plugs are for high compression motors or N20....

I am currently running the TR6s plugs in my CAM ONLY stock H/I car. I am making 415/378 at the rear.

Now in the spring i am adding 42# injectors, 85mm Lid, 85mm Maf and an E-CutOut.

Should i be running the TR55s or TR6 plugs? What should they be gapped?

i know i am such a shiit. but you have a higher compression motor. so if i were you i would use the TR6 plugs.

I have been using TR6 plugs, i am cam only and NA.. That is what my tuner told me to use. So i have been reading and been getting mixed reviews...

I'd just stick with the TR6s. I run them on mine when I'm NA (obviously not spraying every moment that engine is running), and I don't notice it running any different than with the TR55s that were in here before

No need to run the colder plug for what you've got, but it's not going to hurt anything or make any difference in power.......the colder plug just won't last as long. If it were me, I'd probably run the 55's in your car.

If it matters or not, I have run stock pluggs, Denso's, TR55's, and now a few months with TR6 in my car. I have not noticed any diffrence other than slightly less detonation with the TR6's (but I also put in a 160' thermo at the same time). I will stay with the TR6's. I cant remember the gap, I think I set them to .40

Runing just a bunch of bolt on mods on the LS1...

Detontation....you have a problem with your engine if you're detonating. 160 t-stat has nothing to do with detonation or plug choice.

TR55 or TR5 is what you want, gapped to .050

Those two plugs are identical plugs, just gapped differently from the manufacturer.

I've had the TR6's in since 2003 and they have not missed a lick. Gapped at about .045 I think.

There's absolutely no reason to run a TR6 plug on an N/A cam car or heads/cam car.

TR55's, and gap according to your compression ratio.

I heard TR6 plugs handle more timing = more power.

We make virtually the same power and my tuner who sprays a low 8 sec car at 160mph told me tr55's. I trust he knows what is best.... I am at 10.7 compression and gap at .050 IIRC

They reason for me to decide running tr6's is they minimize engine knock when ECT goes above 210. It's very hot here in SA
