Default Y-Pipe Hitting Car

I just finished installing a Bassani Y-Pipe this weekend. Sometimes, from a stop, it will bang the underside of the car when the engine torques a bit. To keep it from happening, you have to pull out from a stop perfectly (M6). I'm assuming that this is the reason the stock pipe is flat in this location. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, any suggestions on fixing it? If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Both of these gentlemen are correct. I've been told if you do the poly's you won't need the bumpstop, but we installed both on a buddy's Z28 and there is definitely no Y-pipe movement.

poly (or solid i guess) is the only proper way to fix it.

putting the brace in puts undue stress on the exhaust pipes.

i had the basani setup for a while, with the EXACT same issues. poly motor mounts 100% cured it.

Thanks! I think I am going to try to use the bumpstop, and change the mounts later.

change the mounts and forget the bandaid (bumpstop) "solution".
