gains on stock engine wth ls6 vs fast 92/92
I tryed the search and it just brings up a bunch of random stuff but i wanted to know if there were any gains on a stock engine ls1 with a ls6 and pp throttle body vs a fast 92/92 im planing on puting a set of TFS heads and stock cam or ls6 cam (looking for a sleeper) but that wont be for a while cause i want to get a good tranny and rear first but if i could get like 20rwhp now i would defintly do it now and i know the fast wont really shine into i upgrade the heads or cam i was just wondering what it would do on a stock motor thanks.
My car is 02 ws6 a4 with LT, Ory, P&P throttle body, gmmg catback, 3000 stall, and dyno tune 330rwhp 324rwtq

doesn't sound like much of a sleeper with heads, headers, ory, stall, and a fast definitely won't help that
not that a trans am, much less a ws6 can really be much of a sleeper anyway...it's like my car has always been...people usually assume its faster than it is
several people claim gains of 20rwhp over stock ls1 intake, since you already have the ls6 I wouldn't spend the money unless you get a really good deal...only reason I have one
and if you're going to do heads, do yourself a favor and get a cam...you can spec out something that won't sound radical, but like I said nothing else is really sleeper about the car anyway

Sorry, didnt know you had headers..Damn straight..You will gain prolly 35hp with the 90/90 setup..The ls6 intake will go to 15hp over the ls1..With the pp throttle body you will gain a extra 10hp..ideally the 90/90 setup is the best power, but the ls6 setup is more bang for the buck in my opinion.and id go with that..Unless you got money to blow then go the 90/90..And if you have money to blow..Get me one too..lol

if he has an 02 he has the ls6 on the car already unless someone changed it, I think hoping for anything more than 10-15 rwhp in an auto would be overly optimistic...maybe a touch more if the intake is ported
if you add heads and cam it will likely help more but still likely not over 30hp (total over the ls6) unless you are spinning over 7k rpm
just based on what i've seen on this site...and i question those numbers sometimes because no one wants to admit they've spent $1400 for less than that
i can say i felt a considerable gain, especially over 4200rpm when i switched from ls1 to my ported fast 90/90...but the butt dyno says there's no way it was over 25hp max (i might get some more from it once the car is tuned for it though)

This kinda pertains to the question i had, I'm building a 408ci LS2 im putting ls1 heads on the car(aftermarket) with a cam with a high LSA and i was looking for a stock look for the car, would ls6 intake be a good choice and will it flow good enough????

I would think the LS1-LS6 swap would see a better gain than LS6-FAST. I highly doubt you will see any more than 10rwhp if that. Without back to back dyno's we still can't say for sure what will happen on an SI car. But as JonCR96Z has proven, it sure doesn't hurt, and he was already running damn strong times. I don't have any comparisons between the two but I'm still stock internal and running mid 11's with a 90/90 setup, so I think there's enough proof to say... why not
