Default Going to order headers soon - 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 - light accomp. mods.

I'm going to keep this car as streetable as possible - stock cubes, light cam, better heads, but as street friendly as I can make it. Given that, any reason to go to the 7/8ths headers, or stick with the 3/4 size? (ARH is the brand I've picked, with their catted Y).

Other than that, car will have the normal bolt-ons.

If you were going with bigger cubes, 1 7/8 might help you out but on a stock cube motor you might gain some top end, but only at the cost of some low end power. Not worth it IMO.

Check out LPP's headers. All stainless, and the quality is literally on-par with ARH, for much less $.

fitment and clearance of the ARH are what I want - this car drives in some places where I scrape with the stock pipes.

edit: and I need emissions fittings, and a catted y.

I would go with the 1-3/4's for your setup if your staying relatively streetable. And LPP are NOT the same quality as ARH IMO

Ditto - the fit is perfect. finish and ease of installation is spot on (1 7/8).

I have an ATI D1SC with a H/C 347 non-forged putting out 560 rwhp with 1 7/8 instead of 1 3/4 with their catted y - pipe. So some possibe power-loss with 1 7/8 for me is not an issue.

I got the the larger if I decide later to go with a 402/408.

Don't want to speak for ARH but they installed a wide band bung free of charge. Might as well have it done when they build the set for you.

i have a book that compares different parts through a dyno, they tested a 400 hp car and the 1 7/8 added like 4 horse up top but took like 4 from the bottom, they said the recommended it only if your gonna wind up makin a lot of power, otherwise not worth the bs and ull get torque loss
