Default Hooker Catback Opinions

Just curious to what you guys think of it. Hows the sound? How restrictive is it compared to a cutout?

my friend runs a hooker catback, lts, ORY and a cutout. it sounds nice and quiet with the cutout closed at idle and WOT. nothing obnoxious but its a nice combo with the cutout/catback. quiet when you wanna be and loud on command.

as for being restrictive i think its one of the better flowing catbacks out there. nothing compares to the flow of a cut out or true duals. i think my friend dynoed about 10-12hp more with the cutout open

I absolutely love mine. When it's finally time to replace it I'll be putting another one right back on. The sound is clean with minimal rasp. It's also one of the highest flowing mufflers of that construction type.

I have one really crappy video of me embarassing myself at the track, LOL. It was my first time back since my H/C install & I was on some really crappy street tires. Needless to say I spun thru 3 gears before finally finding traction. I busted a horrible time but still got some MPH out of it after spinning for days, LOL.

Enjoy my misery, LOL. You can only hear it when I cleaned off my tires & right when I launch & start spinning due to other cars in line where it was filmed from.

Love mine as well, with the exception of going true duals I'll go back to my Hooker cats every time.

I just put the hooker catback on my car and like it alot aswell. It is a great sounding catback that flows pretty decent too. I still have the stock manifolds with stock cats and y pipe so its pretty quiet still.

One more for the hooker It one of best flowing and I like that I can still cruse on the hiway and talk to the passenger. I would not want it any louder at WOT.

On my old setup, I gained 1 rwhp on a dyno by opening the cutout with a Hooker. The hooker is just stealthy enough to keep me out of trouble. I have an e cutout if I want it louder.

i like the sound of the hooker catback. my buddy has that on his firebird. it sounds really good. its kinda on the quiet side like the magnaflow, but i think the hooker has more of a deeper rumble than magnaflow. definitely a good exhuast system.

I love my hooker Lt's ORY & Catback. Everyone is right on here, nice quiet under 2k & real nice deep sound throughout. I have the cutout too, sounds very mean.

I have the Hooker catback as well... but I think mine has gotten louder over time. I even have a bullet muffler in the I-pipe to make it a little smoother, but I love the sound.

Theres a few decent videos on youtube.com. Just type in "hooker catback" and it will pull up a bunch of ls1 cars with the hooker exhaust.

not a great vid but you get the idea. Mine snarled to hell and back, you could hear it for 1/4 at WOT.
