Unhappy Should I see gains this high from LM? I am scared!

Well, I put Loudmouth on the car today, and took off the Flowmaster. I was testing it out today , and I got scared. I am spining the tires everywhere, and I can feel some serious seat of your pants gains! I can also hear the intake suck air in very loud, but I'm guessing that is from the increased flow. All I can say is that with the few few few mods the car has, I feel as though it is much quicker then it should be, and like I said I had Flowmaster. Flowmaster sux, and LM is just plain wicked! That should be their slogan "the most wicked exhaust!" Well just wanted to say to those that have Flow, GET RID OR IT FOR LOUDMOUTH!

That is my test drive and review, it is absolutly the best thing I have heard on an LS1 F-bod (not true duels). It is just plain great, and the drone only come in under load, not when holding a speed.

So dare you go!

Exactly.

LM is ok when you have stock manifolds/cats, but once you get serious with your exhaust and do some headers with an ORY (better yet toss in a cam too ), LM blows. Way too raspy, way too broken sounding. There are MUCH better setups out there for ORY cars...

I speak from true experiance. I have tried MANY different LS1 exhuast combos with my two different LS1 cars over the last 4+ years.

It's the cats . . . the LM system requires cats. As you have seen, the LM is great but if you remove those cats, you will need a real muffler. Many people (including myself) keep the LM, but replace the LM resonator with a muffler.

you have any clips of yours? ya, i know alot of the guys with LM and LT's get a muffler or install bullets in the I pipe to keep the rasp down.

Probably the best way to see if you gained anything is to take your car to the track. I guess using the "butt-meter" works for me too. Way to go!

I scared myself again, I was on an open stretch of hizzhighway, and floored it at 50mph, and the low trac came on! Anyone else's stock SS do this with an A4? Note:not the way I usually drive, but gotta hear duh new set up, and feel where the gains are

You broke the tires loose at 50mph on a stock car? Are you sure you didn't put a blower on it instead of any exhaust? hehehe

I know it seems cool that you spun the tires at 50mph with an A4 and no converter no less but it's not impossible. Not to rain on your parade but I just think you need new tires. Not to mention that it is about 30 degrees colder out this week than it was last week. What do you have on there now- the shitty factory goodyears? When mine were going out when I was still stock with only a lid and a LM I could spin them at 60mph but it was colder outside around mid-December. He'll, when I switched to my Fikse with 17x11's in the back and 315 bfg's I could still spin them at 47 mph into second and that was with suspension pieces too. Get some Nitto 555's, they are pretty sticky, and if you plan on dragging it get the 555 Drag radials.

CamaroSS, I love my LM too, but dont get over infatuated with it, its only a catback. Also, you cant use the "i can spin my tires and you cant" line to measure your cars power, it gets you nowhere. Im not trying to flame, just trying to help u out a little. Good luck man.

But loudness is a direct measure of power, right? I think someone did a dyno test and got 8 hp with the LM over the stock SS exhuast. That was with a stock motor; probably would be a little more with a modified motor.

I am just suprised at the gains over Flowmaster.
My tire are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s, and I have around 4,000-5,000miles on them, and they have been rotated too. I would say that with Flowmaster, grip was my friend, and now with the ne LM I see very little at low speed with the ASR off. I wouldn't say I exagerated at all, because every bit of what I said is 100% true, and not stretched in any way. Whe I spun the tires at 50mph, that was with ASR off, and it flashed the Low Trac light.

I will say this, the average temp at night in Tampa FL is around 80-90 degrees. On this night, it was almost at 65. I feel as though a good 7-10rwhp was gained over the Flowmaster, and I think that seems reasonable, and acurate.

This is not another kid freak antic, but it is a comment upon the gains I saw over the flowmaster, every one in the car has felt that it is definatly faster.

Cal, your gains are very odd at best. A stock motor should see higher gains over stock, seeing that LM is the best flowing, and one of the highest dynoed system out there. Someone told me that I should see a bigger increase from flowmaster to LM then from stock to LM, it is just that bad. (He knows from experience)
