Default Solid Motor Mounts

I am going to install my solid motor mounts tomorrow. I did a search but did not find much info on tip to installing them ... Just that they suck to change.

Anyone have any info that will help me?

Its a 1999 Camaro with Long tubes ..

Think its hards with the long tubes..

Thanks for your help...

the poly trans mounts do cause some vibration I got mines in when you really get on it and the mph starts to get high you will hear it pretty decent

Any word on how this went? I think I am going solid just to save the hassle of trying to press the poly ones into the clamshell and all that jazz. I don't mind vibrations, my car has felt like one of those homedics chair cushion massagers since I've owned it anyways.

the install isn't that bad. you will need to drop the alt and make sure you have a 13mm gear wrench( it is a life saver). do one side at a time and leave the bolts loose until you get both sides with all the bolts threaded. patience is your friend

It's not too bad. Though, make sure to disconnect the little wire connector on top of the alternator before you drop it. I found out the hard way when I pulled that wire loose. Luckily, I was able to make a new connector. Just be careful.

HOLY CRAP ON TOAST, that reason ALONE is worth getting solids...pulling the pans on the fbods is a HUGE pita...with solids I can pull the pan and replace my mains...with the motor in the car and attached! Brilliant!

When I put mine in I didn't mess with the starter or alt. I did mine at the same time I put headers in though. Tons of room with no exhuast or manifolds in the way. I did the driverside first and then the pass. Just stick a jack and a chunk of wood under the oilpan and it's a breeze.
