Default Anyone successfully remove the OPSU on LS6 IM swap?

I'm trying to see if anyone has successfully removed the Oil pressure sending unit from the back of intake when doing an ls6 manifold swap. I really don't want to buy a new one. Is there a tool you can buy to help you remove it?

Also, is a tune needed to experience gain in hp/tq after the install?

I think it is like a 1-1/16" deep socket.

A regular deep socket won't cut it, you will have to find an extra long deep socket to reach the bottom and yes it is 1 1/16. I found it a little difficult to use an open wrench cause of the clearance to the firewall. So I just went ahead and replaced it with a new one since I figured it's 11yrs. old it will probably break soon so I replaced it.

just break the ****, its super brittle and odds are its gonna break. The new ones feel much sturdier then the OEM ones after all those heat cycles.

How about just know its back there and disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster, hold it up and pull the intake off??

I've taken mine off 5 times and never broke the unit

Yeah I mistunderstood the procedure, I thought the OPSU had to come off. I just pulled me ls1 intake out and didn't break it.
