Default 243 heads.. what cam/intake?

bought a set of 243 heads off a 2001 vette.. wanted to know what would be a good cam/intake to make this a nice little all motor build. going to do a 5angle valve job and maybe get the heads ported. been looking at a ms3 and Texas Speed Torquer v.2 Camshaft.. what do you guys think?

My cam was made around these heads, stock, and either the ls6 intake will work, or a fast for a little more power.

I think that's a great option. Not too big, not too small. Great street/strip cam. I've heard good things about the TR224.

Its a good cam for 243's, runs like a stock cam almost. I have the TSP 224r .581/.581 on 114LSA and I made the numbers in my sig with untouched 243's, LS6 intake, pacesetters into 3" TD's. I've been looking into getting them ported and spec'ing out a custom cam though.

that's some nice numbers, that 114lsa was a good choice since it runs like a stock cam.. that's kinda what i wanted, sleeper status. im still kinda set on spec'ing out a custom cam myself.. a lil more duration and lift then yours, not by much though.. would like to spray in the future. so many choices lol

contact Patrick G on this forum. You pay him $25 and he'll set you up with a custom cam that wont disappoint. You can easily make 435 rwhp with a beautiful curve for street driving.

I think you're on the right track. Custom is the way to go these days with so many guys that are good at speccing out what will work best for you.

Does anyone have an idea what a custom cam with installation would cost?

maybe a good 800, cam isn't really hard at all if you have the right tools. just need to make sure the lifters don't fall into the block, so i have been told. im going to do h/c/i all at one time so i don't think it really maters..
