Default Hello all

Hey all i'm new to the forum, though i have surfed the forum for info before... but now that i actually have an SS, i thought that it's time to join.. since i'll be asking lots of questions..

a little back ground...

well it all started back in 01 when it was a toss up between a new s-10 zq8 and a use 98 z28 for relatively the same price... needless to say i bought the s-10 due to wanting something that would give me any problems for awhile, so i bought the s-10. After much regret, and accomplishing my goal of getting my s-10 int the 14's... oh and a child i decided i needed something faster.. so i fell for a 2005 saturn ion redline. great all around car...and i can keep up with the mustang gt's all day.. with my modifications.. 269 at the wheels helps. Anyway i decided to pay off my bike..and the next day.. i drive by the dealer and there is a camaro ss sitting in the lot.. well i knew tht it would'nt last long on the lot so i said to the wife..."damnit woman... i've gone long enought being ridiculed by the stang... i need that raw ls1 growl and torque" and of course she didn't know what the hell i was talking about but anyway i talked her into it.. and bam... i pick it up on wednesday, below is a link to the price and specs.... what ya think?

or

not sure which it is but i believe it is the top link..

and i think it has a K&N drop in for it... but i'll need a lid for sure...

how much u guys think i would need to spend to get say 350 at the wheels. i hear thy put down about 300 at the wheels stock... of course a tune would be one of my first priorities after some simple bolt-ons.... i'm not looking to take it down the 1320 all the time... just spirited reliable driving. i was once told these were very untertuned from the factory.. and i have seen a few stock ls1's gain 25 hp just from a tune.

M6s typically dyno 310-330 stock, autos usually dyno 290-310 stock.

LT's, ORY, catback, lid, tune would put you close. If you are gonna do all that though might as well drop a cam in and go right past that 350

thanks guys.. yeah i picked it up today... i love it.. but i notices that after i beat on it a bit... i had some lifter noise on the driver side... oil is brand new from dealer... i'm gonna be putting amsoil in it but that ticking worries me... its not very noticable at a cold start.. just when it is warmed up u can hear it in the car with the windows up but it's not constant...somtimes it is noticable and somtimes barely... i had a s-10 witha 4.3.. but it only did it at start up for a couple seconds.
