how many miles have you put on the new stuff? try reseting the ECM then see how your car runs.

Cars r funny. The computer might just need time to adjust. Great thing about older cars are that the computers adjust more easily to mods. Good luck.

Your bone stock car screams? My car feels slow as dirt to me. Anyway, give it some time for the computer to learn. If it doesn't get any better, I suggest going back to the stock MAF. I'm not sure why guys keep buying aftermarket MAF's anyway. The stock unit is perfectly fine and you really aren't going to see any gains by going with an aftermarket piece. Too many problems created by not using the stock MAF IMO.

Good luck!

Just go ahead and swith to the stock MAF, if you want to descreen it you can, and see how it does, if its slower put the other one back in there. You just have to play around with it man. Good Luck

HOW did it work out so far?...i wouldve just gone back to stock induction wise and see how it does...then youll know if the clutch is making it feel different or not...then add either the lid or maf then whatevers left and see which part is making it hold back. Its really hard when you do a bunch of things at once to tell which one did bad.

fiv0killr- I would've driven a few hundred miles on with the 85mm MAF. Give the computer time to learn. Beat on the car pretty good during that time period too. I really don't like SOTP feel either. I like dyno numbers and better yet track times. SOTP can be deceiving sometimes. Example...my car feels really fast after a carwash, an oil change, or even with a full tank of gas.

with all the free and knowledgable (sp) info out there i always read up thoroughly on my mods before purchasing them. that way i dont buy, install, have trouble, and then ask questions.

I don't have the 85mm MAF but, I wasrunning a ported Stock MAF , then I put the stock ends back on. After that I went to the track and my 1/8 MPH increased by 3-4 MPH and my 1/4 MPH increased 2.5 MPH

I added the TSP 85mm kit to mine along with a Thunder ported TB. I drove for a few hundred miles then went to the track and lost 3 tenths and 3mph in better weather. I put my stock OEM SLP lid back on with the stock MAF and I will be going to the track Sat. to see if I gained anything back. I'll put the SLP MAF back on when I get dyno tuned. I think it will be fine once properly tuned. Otherwise, there crap.

Dyno tests have proven that a freshly washed and waxed car makes more power!!

You have to get it tuned with the new MAF. You maybe running richer by the pcm thinking it is seeing more air and adding more fuel. My 85mm MAF was reading 16 grams of air at ilde I then put the stock unported maf on and it read 12 grams and the idle speed was the same for both.
