so i got a ticket the other night for excessive exhaust. i currently have pacesetter lts, ORY, and slp LM catback.

i am going to put a cat in but not sure which one. i was looking at the slp high flow cats but i only want one and i want it to be after the y pipe but before the slp can. Is it ok to have the cat right before the muffler?

they become less effective the further you move it from the engine.

I'm guessing you got a ticket for a loud pipe, not excessive exhaust. Anything in the path of flow will calm it down even a simple bend. Get a bullet or a cat and put it somewhere inline.

well i really just want it to pass emmisions and that the fact that it is a federal offense to not have them. i love the way it is right now but iff i put a cat there will it quiet it a little.

i was cruising at 45 in 4th gear so it wasnt extremely loud. the officer said that i was not allowed to have any type of modified exhaust on the car.

yeah it will. You can probably find a cat somewhere for 60$.
