Default Pick my Headers

I plan on getting some headers this weekend.
Should I save some money and get the Pacesetters, or sacrafice other upgrades for some Kooks or even Dyna tech?

Yes I searched already but I was very intoxicated and don't know how to search again.

I just put in an order to American Racing. They have a nice high velocity merge collector and the craftsmanship is supposed to be top notch. You'll probably want stainless eventually...so you might as well just do it once and get stainless.

I've been there . I'd base your choice on how far you want to take your car's build. If its going to be a mild setup street car, that won't see much salt, rain or other elements, then I'd get the Pacesetters. People make pretty big power on them, and they're not going to be a noticeable restriction until you get to a really high hp level. If that's not the case, then a higher end header with a might velocity merge collector and bigger/stepped primaries might be worth it for you, Kooks, AR, QTP. That's how I went about making my decision.

To me there are only two choices in headers:
Cheap: edelbrock Victor JR stepped. Easier to install than pacesetters and seem to be of much better quality I've installed both. Edelbrock is more than enough for future power needs if you are staying 346.

Expensive: Kooks- proven headers I've owned three sets on different cars. They tuck up like no other, if you plan on lowering car I'd buy them over all others for this reason. I would put american racing right up here as well.

On both I'd pick up some header studs expensive but worth it, if you are planning urethane motor mounts and a K-member this would be an EXCELLENT time for spring for it. Makes things MUCH easier!

Pacesetters are a nice header for the money but are not much less than the edelbrocks and the ypipe was not so nice we used the TSP pipe and it was a PITA!

Hope that helps just my .02 from experiences.

If you plan on keeping the car more than 2-3 years get stainless. If not get the pacesetters. Im keeping my car so pacesetters werent an option. I went with kooks.
