TURBO or Stoker/crate motor?
I've have 2001 Ws6, net even headers on the poor thing yet. Before I start just buying things I may have to take off later, I would your idea first! Gotta love the sound of a big stroker, but what is better on gas, and performance. Is it true that a TT or even turbo kit for my ls1 will out-perform most strokers in most areas?
And is it a smart idea to just go ahead and buy a turbo kit and apply it without any other mods?
What am I getting myself into?

turbo, drives like a normal car and has ***** to back it up. better gas milage also. Just depends on what you like, Instant torque or a little bit of lag and you are back in the seat.
a buddy of mine has a c6 vette pretty much stock except for a twin turbo kit and a cam, made 604 to the wheels. Not sure how long it will live though. But its been fine for about 15,000 miles so far.

if its an everyday driver you are probrally not gonna want to drive around in a car with a big cam, like a stroker would most likely have. The dependability is based on the tuning and such, keep a consivertive tune on it and you should be fine. With either one you are gonna need a new rearend.

Matt, with your budget I'd just mod what ya got without going FI.
Full bolt-ons along with a well matched H/C/I combo. Sling the TA on the rollers for a dyno tune when you're done and call it a day.
You should have a couple bucks left over to put towards some suspension upgrades later.
Remember, you'll have the juice on tap for when you need it.
