Default Exhaust cutout turn down

I was thinking of buying one of these, would there be any real point to it? The only one I found was for $44, and I can't really justify spending that if it's not even going to do anything important.

When I had my cutout installed the shop asked me if I wanted a turndown added to it. He said since my coutout is located underneath the rear passenger-side seat it might get hot for anyone sitting in that seat. I said no since I never have anyone sitting there. And I think the shop only wanted like an extra $5 or $10 for the turndown.

I wouldn't say it's pointless, it depends on where your cutout is. I'm will be putting a e-cutout in and will be putting a turn down on it to direct the exhaust to the ground. Personal preference.

Mine is in the usual spot, right under the rear passenger seat. It's not facing anything. I've driven for countless hours with it open with no issues. Just makes me wonder is all.

If it's on the I-pipe under the rear seat then no, you won't need a turndown.
I drove for about 8 months with the cutout open under there and never had any issues.
Recently I just deleted the catback and made a dump before the axle.

Yeah, it's just stock exhaust with cats + the cutout. I really like it. Other people say it sounds like a dump truck. Maybe I just like driving my dumptruck, haha.

I put one on mine and it's located under the rear passenger seat.... I didn't want that black carbon on my shock, wheel or brake.

I also did it in case I had a engine failure that would shoot oil out the exhaust it would be directed to the middle of the car rather then that rear wheel.

well IMO really not a point but on other hand if your car likes running rich if you dont want a lot of nasty black unburned fuel or what not stained under your car go with a turndown lol!

anybody know how much to have a cutout installed? I have the cutout and necessary pipes, it is used and might need a little cutting and welding. just looking for a ball-park at what it would cost to have a shop do it all?
