Default LS6 coolant crossover tube question

Just to clear this up, I have been reading countless threads on LS6 intake swaps for the last 4 hours. Correct me if I am wrong, I may have read too much into this, but if you purchase the LS6 coolant crossover kit you are connecting the front only and blocking off the rear coolant tube? If correct is there any way to keep it connected to flow coolant to the back instead of blocking them off, besides keeping the stock LS1 coolant lines on?

I think you can save the money and just grind down the plastic on the bottom of the intake so it still clears the crossover tube. Other than that I cant answer your specific question. ha

Yes I know that but I wondering if I am correct with my question and if there is any other way besides that one to keep the coolant line in the back

You can buy two coolant crossover tubes and place one on the back as well.. You can block them off buy somthing about blocking coolant on an all aluminum motor doesn't sound so good to me. This is what I did and everything works out and fits perfectly plus you have a piece of mind. Hope this helps!

The kits I see for sale only come with one tube for the front and plugs for the back to block off and I dont want to block the back off. Is there a kit that comes with the back one or anyone know the part #s for the front a rear tube so I can order it from a dealer?

There isn't a GM production kit to do this. It would be a custom deal.

grind away the fins on the bottom of the LS6 intake and the stock LS1 coolant lines will fit.I use the stock LS1 coolant lines with a fast intake.

those extra coolant lines are a big waste of time and money. hammer and chisel to bottom of intake literaly done in 5 min. cost nothing and done in no time.

I decided I am going to go that route. Im gona grab some 400 grit sand paper and go over it to smooth it up some after I chisel

Hey just noticed your from ct also.
Your going to be very suprised how easy it is. As a matter of fact I dont even think I used a chisel the whole time. Just some hits on the ribs sideways and they just snaped right off. If you really wanna do a nice job go for it with the sandpaper or whatever. I saw it as just the bottom and noones ever gonna see it and its not hurting performance.

Also if i remember correctly I think there was a problem with the crossover tubes. Something with 1 or 2 of the ports I dont remember.

Have not read anything on that besides swapping the tubes or chisel the ribs. What other problem could there be with them?

Just go ahead and do what everybody's saying. Grab a hammer and chisel and start whacking them off. It goes so easy, next thing you know you're having fun doing it. They come off cleanly so you won't have to sand or anything.

Then after you're done, you get to enjoy the new-found torque and driveability the intake provides.

I used two front lines when I did my LS6 install, as well. It wasn't too difficult to run a coolant line from the rear and connect it with a "T" fitting to the front.

I see you mentioned you plan to grind the fins. This has worked well for many and I'm sure it'll work fine for you.

Good luck.

Just picked it up tonight. The intake is new and has never been installed on a car. Still has the tag on it. Not bad for $200
