Big performance loss here? Headers and a matching Y back to the stock catback?

I dont have a TA but I have the stock ss catback, headers and ORY. Its pretty tame at idle and normal driving just a TAD louder than stock. WOT is a good bit louder than stock but still not overly loud. I really didnt want my car to be loud with the headers so I kept the stock cat back and it has worked out perfectly, I just installed a cut out so I can be loud as hell when I want. Here is a short vid of blipping the throttle on the highway with the cut out open and closed. I've got QTP LT's 3" ORY into Flowmaster 4" merge + 4" cutout to stock catback. http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/i...t=IMG_0667.flv

Don't know why you specifically want to see a trans am....but here's my camaro with what you're looking for. KOOKS 1 7/8TH headers, custom 3" y pipe into 4" flowmaster merge, 4" cutout, reduced to stock catback.

I ran MACs, ORY, and stock cat back on my car on the first go round. Picked up a ton of power and was really quiet when I wasn't on it. It was a tad raspy and "brappy" when I got on it, but it was a cheap, effective upgrade. With cats, would have been better. I wouldn't hesitate to run this set up again. Actually, in a way I am running the optimized version of that. I have ARH 1 7/8, cats, and a dual dual and I put down 465/444. Using one of the OEM cat backs is the best way to go unless you like obnoxiously loud.
