Default The most RWHP from an LS6 w/ just bolt-ons?

Here's the thing...I put down 335/345 on a Mustang dyno with my stock '00 ls1 (305 HP) with just the bolt-ons in my sig (I did it with the LS1 intake, too). I'm putting in an 04 LS6 advertised at 405 HP, so what will it max out at, do you think, with just bolt-ons? What's the max any of you have gotten with an '02+ LS6 and just bolt-ons.

...I figure it'll be at least 24k warranty miles before I start thinking about upgrading the cam and swapping out the LS6 intake.

Id say a better tune would help you. Hp tune, or a full dyno tune. After that Id say Underdrive pully. There's not a whole hell of a lot left.

those are really high numbers for a stock car, especially on a mustang dyno. an LS6 intake may net you around 8rwhp

ditch the cats, do a cut out, FM merge, ditch the LM for at least a 3.5" exhaust, 4" if u ever go cam/heads, udp, FTP 98mm lid, 85mm MAF, 85mm tb, typhoon mani with fuel rails(maybe injectors too).

Thanks for the suggestions; I'm definitely headed for a full tune as soon as the engine is installed. Already running an 85mm MAF, but will wait another 24k miles before swapping the LS6 intake and cam for something bigger.

Underdrive is on the list; gotta keep the cats for ODB2; thinking of doing true duals with the TSP X-Pipe & LM 1's

But, what i was trying to get at, is how much RWHP do you think we can make with an LS6 and just bolt-ons? At first I didn't think I could even get close to 400 RWHP, but after I thought about getting 335 out of the 305 HP LS1 (with a few missing pieces), it seems like it might be possible, and I was hoping some guys could share what they've seen out of a stock internals LS6.

MAY is the key word, i went from an ls1 intake to an ls6 intake. also got my car tuned after the ls6 intake. my car was untuned when i had the ls1 intake, and even with the tune and ls6 intake/85mm tb i only picked up 7rwp. going from 349rwhp-356rwhp.

so just depends on the car, my brothers t/a made 347/361tq with the stock ls1 intake

My LS6 CTSV did 402rwhp/387rwtq on a dynojet with bolt ons.

Mods were:
Ram air intake
FAST 90
Electric waterpump
Kooks LTs
Mangaflow x-pipe
Flowmaster super 44s
aluminum flywheel
dynotune

Obvisouly I have some things that you don't, but an underdrive pulley would probably show more gain than my EWP did and your solid axle car has less drivetrain loss then my IRS so the flywheel difference would probably cancel out as well. And I don't know how much the FAST will hold you back on a bolt on car, but it probably wouldn't be much.

That's what I'm talking about...thanks for the feedback.

I always wondered how much the EWP was worth. Looks like pulley and x-pipe are next. I'm going to resurface the flywheel while the engine is pulled; there's 50k on it and the clutch plate, but I'm not sure the the aluminum flywheel is worth the bucks.

BTW - the McLeod clutch has been awesome for uncounted 4500 rpm launches

really? So you just delete the CAT codes? What does the state emissions computer think about that? Or does it only care about DTCs that do show up???

I would stick with the y-pipe setup on yours, unless you just want duals anyway. The CTSV just has duals from the factory so x-pipes are all you can get for them.

And yeah the codes can just be turned off. I just had my WS6 inspected and it doesn't have one single O2 sensor plugged up, no MAF, no EVAP, no AIR pump and passed the OBD2 scan just fine.
