anyone ever done a td setup, dumped, without an x or h pipe?
just wondering if anyone knows if it would hurt power or sound severely? i have a friend with a flow master setup that way. thats how if bought it. sounds good to me but just wanting some opinions. it would be cheaper for sure. thanks for replies in advance! i'm lovin this forum by the way, tons of great info!

yes, for race apps though. traditionally you want a crossover to help equalize exhaust scavenging effects from one bank to the other. on a race application weight and flow are more of a concern because the car will be performing at peak range more often. sure you can do it on a street set up but don't complain when a cop bends you over...

Yes I have-on the street for three years now. Had a X junction and took it off to see if there is any difference. Besides sound. For me-none, Sound or track times. All stayed the same. Used bullets and 1 chambers. As for sound I liked the 1 chambers.

thanks guys. my friends setup uses two chambers dumped. its not terribly loud. i would think bullets would sound better. it would be cheaper and easier too. he has the 5.3 stage 2.5 heads. i think an older magic stick cam, and some lt's. ported tb. he has trapped 115 on street tires. so i.d think power isn't hurt. it is a six speed and he's never really got in a good run or got all the gears just right.

I had the MS3 and some LS6-2.5 heads also. 1 7/8 headers and a lot more to list. The heads have been the weak link in my combo. I'm going more street now. So Im switching it all up again. The bullets had a good sound. I wanted a deeper note so its why I went one chambers. Plus I usually go to work around 2 am and wanted to be nicer to my neighbors. I broke my trans during a run and I was shifting in 4th. didnt finish the 1/4 but was doing just above 115.

I have heard back to back videos of the same car with true duals with no crossover, then with an X or H (can't remember) and the sound was very close, except the X/H crossover vids you could tell the sound was smoother and blended better.
