Default muffler to flow well but be quiet

are there any high flow mufflers that also keep the car very quiet? i would need a 3" in/out muffler. i get enough attention just the way my car looks, id like to make the car as quiet as possible but still flow well. any suggestions?!!

magnaflow is quiet at idle/cruising... just gets loud when you get on it. However, if your "getting on it" then I doubt the risk of attention is a factor anymore. It flows really well too...

Car is turboed right?

I am switching to a stock off the shelf passenger car muffler to keep quiet, then have a vacuum cutout in line. As soon as vacuum drops from throttle input, the exhaust bypasses.

This is an older article but has some good muffler info. http://www.mustang50magazine.com/tec...o_numbers.html Check out the borla XS, I watched some youtube vids and that thing is pretty quiet.

My magnaflow is really really really quiet, granted I was coming from a LM1 so I don't know what the car is supposed to sound like with the stock muffler, but this magnaflow is almost too quiet for me.

I have the factory (sport version) cat back, with long tubes and no cats, and its pretty darn loud when your on it. No drone, but it's still noticeable louder at idle and driving around than factory.

yeah i have a sigle turbo with a single 3" exhaust pipe. not too concerned about tone, but mainly concerned about it being quiet. trying to figure out how to get the car to be almost silent. almost like how a vette sounds off the showroom floor. quiet at idle and cruising, but has a little grunt when you get on it.

I use to have a flowmaster, it was pretty quiet in my opinion. It actually didn't sound too bad, I just prefer a loud exhaust. Seems like magnaflow is your best bet here though. That was before my headers and y pipe also.

Look at borla's xr1 mufflers, there's a reason race cars use them, they flow awesome and can help reduce db levels a lot.

magnaflow for sure!! sounds quiet at idle and cruise but really roars at full throttle... i also have true duals with LT's so that may be a little biased

The LM2 really isnt that loud when crusing and the windows are up.

Gets loud with the TTops off.

I would say get a Hooker catback, sounds like it is what you want.
