Mr. Gasket Thermostat
Got the Mr Gasket 160 stat. How are you supposed to use this? It is not like the stock 1 piece thermostat housing, it is just a thermostat. To get it to fit I had to snap the stock aluminum bridge and t stat outta the stock housing and use silicone when I installed the Mr. Gasket one.
Any reason why this wouldn't work, anyone tried it?

V6 is correct, the Mr. Gastket one is incorrect. Return it and have a read here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/13344643-post9.html

Why would you buy a new water pump just so you can use that thermostat you bought? Just get the thermostat that Paul posted the link for.

I've had the car on the dyno the last couple of days and no coolant leaks and it seems to operate like a 160 should, so I'd say if you want to pay $9 for the mr gasket one its cheaper than the autozone one if you don't mind modding the t stat hosing a little.
